What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a valuable therapeutic modality of Chinese medicine that has been used for over 2,500 years to resolve pain, correct chronic health issues, support the immune system, balance the physiologic functions of the body, promote homeostasis, and prevent disease.
Acupuncture consists of the insertion of very fine, disposable pins (acupuncture needles) into specific vital energy points on the surface of the skin. Acupuncture stimulation helps the body to achieve a state of physiologic and metabolic balance (homeostasis), strengthens the natural resistance against disease, and activates the innate power of the body to heal.
How Acupuncture can benefit you

Is Acupuncture Safe?
Yes, acupuncture is very safe provided it is practiced by a licensed and knowledgeable professional. The sensation produced by acupuncture stimulation varies. Some people may experience a vague heaviness, numbness, tingling, or dull sensation. Sometimes people feel a sensation of energy spreading around the needle or radiating along a specific pathway. This is called ‘Qi sensation’ and is a positive sign, indicating that the body is reacting and the treatment is working. Acupuncture is a time-tested, natural, drug-free, and effective therapy with few side effects.
Acupuncture needles are disposable, that is they are only used one time and they have to be disposed of as medical waste.
